Celbridge Community School Under 16 and Under 19 Boys Basketball - A Season to Remember!
The under 16 and under 19 boys basketball teams had two memorable seasons in the Midlands C Boys Basketball League these past few months.
Our under 16 team made it out of their group stages with an undefeated record and finished top of the table. Our under 19 team made it out of their group on top as well with 3 great wins and just 1 narrow loss. Both teams making it out of their groups was an achievement in itself.
At the quarter final stages of the competitions, it was the under 16s who so narrowly lost out in their game by just three points. The boys gave it their all, but it was just not enough to get them the win on the day. We are all still so proud of their efforts and in getting to the knockout stages.
The under 19s then played their quarter final game and won very convincingly putting up over 70 points! They then advanced to the semifinal stage of the competition.
In the semifinal, it was unfortunate that after such a thriller of a game that our under 19 team ending up losing by the narrow margin of two points. It was still an amazing achievement to reach the semifinal stage.
A massive well done to both teams and coach Mathew on what was quite a memorable and positive season. All of us here at Celbridge Community School could not be more proud of their achievements! Thanks for giving the school something to cheers about!
